The Room
Industry events that mix awards, education and exhibition ask something specific of an MC: a sounding board in the room who can synthesise what speakers are saying, hold energy across long days, and steer people away from where the tension sits and toward learning and cohesion.
I have done exactly this format before: a two-day trade show and awards programme for the architecture sector, with practitioners on stage educating their own industry. Same anatomy, different sector.
The skill transfers because the skill is the room, not the industry.

The Difference
The reason my facilitation reads differently is that hosting is not my only work. I run an organisational development and change practice, working with institutions on how their people, communication and market positioning actually function.
I synthesise complex, multi-stakeholder discussion in real time and recognise emerging themes as they form.
I understand market positioning, so I read who is in the room, what they came for and how the sector moves.
I keep conversations purposeful. Energy without direction is entertainment; energy with direction is a working room.
A UCT honours degree in Applied Economics underpins the analytical side. Years of professional performance experience carry the stage.
